´It was narrated that 'Aishah said:` "Hardly anyone every remembered the Messenger of Allah cursing anyone, and if he had recently met with Jibril and studied the Quran with him, he was more generous in doing good than the blowing with. "(Sahih) Abu 'Abdur-Rehman (An-Nasai) said; This is a mistake, and what is correct is the (previous) narration of Yunus bin Yazid, he put this narration in the Hadith.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) The intention of the Imam is that the mention of curse (la'nat) in this hadith is a mistake; rather, it belongs to another narration. The narrator, by mistake, mentioned the words of curse in this hadith as well. In the narration of Yunus ibn Yazid, there is no mention of curse, and this is correct.
(2) "Worthy of mention" means that cursing was not the habit of the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam). The reality is that he never cursed anyone personally. In some cases, regarding extremely intolerable people, he mentioned the curse due to their evil characteristic, for example: [لَعَنَ اللّٰہُ السَّارِقَ یَسْرِقُ الْبَیْضَۃَ فَتُقْطَعُ یَدُہُ] (Sahih al-Bukhari, Hudud, Hadith: 6783, and Sahih Muslim, Hudud, Hadith: 1687)
