Hadith 2055

´It was narrated from Rashid bin Sa'd, that a man among the Companions of the Prophet said:` "O Messenger of Allah, why will the believers be tested in their graves except the martyr?" He said: "The flashing of the swords above his head is trial enough."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
(1) Thus, the reward of jihad and martyrdom is so great that all sins are forgiven. When there are no sins left, then what is the need for examination? The martyr’s standing firm under the swords, rather fighting with bravery, not fleeing from battle, not caring for his life to the extent of sacrificing it—this is a clear proof of his faith. What greater proof could there be than this? Therefore, there remains no need for questioning and answering.

(2) From the aforementioned hadith, it is also deduced that there will be no questioning and answering for the Siddiqin (the most truthful ones), because their rank is higher than that of the martyrs. As for the Prophets (alayhim as-salam), they are, by their very nature, exempt from this.
