Hadith 1658

´It was narrated that Abdullah bin Shaqiq said:` "I said to Aishah: 'Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) pray sitting down?' She said: 'Yes, after the people had worn him out.'"

1658. Commentary: The purpose of Imam al-Nasa’i rahimahullah mentioning this narration repeatedly (six times) is to show that some narrators have reported this narration from Aisha radi Allahu anha and some from Umm Salamah radi Allahu anha. At first glance, this appears to be a mistake on the part of a narrator, and it is also possible that this narration is transmitted from both of them, and the latter view is correct. And Allah knows best. There is also a difference in the chain of narration below, which can be understood and resolved by carefully examining the chain.
