Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1638. Commentary: Imam al-Nasa’i rahimahullah has narrated the same report with different wordings. In reality, his objective is to clarify the differences among the students of Sulayman al-Taymi (upon whom this narration depends), who was a student of Anas radi Allahu anhu. Some have narrated this report as marfu‘ (attributed directly to the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and connected (muttasil), while others have narrated it as mursal (with a missing link). Some have mentioned an intermediary Companion between Anas radi Allahu anhu and the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. However, due to this difference, there is no effect on the authenticity of the narration, because none of these scenarios are considered a flaw. For further clarification, refer to the explanation included under the aforementioned chapter.
