Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1515. Commentary:
➊ "Abi al-Lahm" is not a name but a title, because in the era of ignorance (Jahiliyyah), he did not eat the meat of animals slaughtered in the name of idols. There is a difference of opinion regarding his actual name. Some have said it was Abdullah bin Abdul Malik, others have said Khulaf or Huwayrith. He was martyred in the Battle of Siffin. Radi Allahu anhu.
➋ Ahjar az-Zayt is the name of a place near Madinah Munawwarah, because the stones there were black and shiny, as if they had been smeared with oil.
