Hadith 1478

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحِيمِ ، قال : أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَلَّى فِي كُسُوفٍ فِي صُفَّةِ زَمْزَمَ أَرْبَعَ رَكَعَاتٍ فِي أَرْبَعِ سَجَدَاتٍ " .
´It was narrated from Aishah that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed during an eclipse in a shaded area near Zamzam, bowing four times and prostrating four times.

1478. Commentary: In this hadith, the mention of "Zamzam" is an error on the part of a narrator, because it is established that the Eclipse Prayer (Salat al-Kusuf) was performed by the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) only in Madinah Munawwarah, and according to the soundest opinion, that too only once. Therefore, this word is necessarily a mistake of the narrator. And Allah knows best.
