Hadith 1423

´It was narrated that Samurah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to recite in Jumu'ah prayer: 'Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High'(Al-A'la 87) and: 'Has there come to you the narration of the overwhelming (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)?"(Al-Ghashiyah 88)

Brief Explanation
1؎ : There appears to be a contradiction between this narration and the narration from the previous chapter, but this difference actually indicates the permissibility and Sunnah status of both practices. The meaning is that sometimes the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would recite "Surah al-Jumu'ah" in the first rak‘ah of Jumu‘ah and "Surah al-Munafiqun" in the second rak‘ah, and at other times he would recite «سبح اسم ربك الأعلى» and «هل أتاك حديث الغاشية».
Explanation & Benefits
Shaykh Umar Farooq Saeedi
1125. Commentary:
If one recites from anywhere in the Noble Qur’an during the prayer, then without doubt the prayer is valid and correct. However, making it a habit to recite in the manner chosen by the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is a sign of love for him (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) and for his Sunnah, and is a cause for additional reward with Allah, the Exalted. The pleasure and honor found in this is the special fortune of the people of hadith.
