Hadith 1412

´It was narrated from Muhammad bin 'Abdur-Rahman that:` The daughter of Harithah bin An-Nu'man said: "I memorized 'Qaf. By the Glorious Qur'an,'" from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was on the minbar on Friday."

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1412. Commentary:

➊ That is, the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would always or mostly recite this entire surah in the Friday sermon. The reason for this is that in this surah, resurrection after death, mention of death, and admonition and warning are expressed in a very effective manner. The auditory rhythm adds to this. The verses are short. If recited attentively, they transform the state of the heart.

➋ According to Imam Shafi’i (rahimahullah), five things are essential in every Friday sermon: praise of Allah, sending blessings upon the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), recitation of the Qur’an, admonition, and supplication; otherwise, the sermon will be incomplete. The practice of the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) supports this.
