´It was narrated from 'Amr bin 'Amir that Anas mentioned:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was brought a small vessel (of water) and he performed Wudu'." I said: "Did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) perform Wudu' for every prayer?" He said: "Yes." He said: "What about you?" He said: "We used to pray all the prayers so long as we did not commit Hadath." He said: "And we used to pray all the prayers with (one) Wudu'."

1؎: That is, your general blessed practice was indeed this, although at times you also performed two or more prayers with a single ablution (wudu). Furthermore, it is also possible that Anas radi Allahu anhu answered according to his own knowledge; perhaps he was not aware that you had also performed several prayers with one ablution.
Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
131. Commentary: The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam also did not always perform a new ablution (wudu) for every prayer. At times, it is mentioned that he would perform multiple prayers with a single ablution, as will be seen in the forthcoming ahadith. That is, generally, he would perform ablution for the sake of reward and cleanliness.
