´It was narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Talha, from his father, that:` The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came one day with a cheerful expression on his face, and we said: "We see you looking cheerful". He said: "The Angel came to me and said: 'O Muhammad, your Lord says: 'Will it not please you (to know) that no one will send salah upon you that I will send salah upon him tenfold, and no one will send salams upon you but I will send salams upon him tenfold?'"

1284. Commentary:
➊ Allah! Allah! How great is the virtue of sending blessings (salat) and peace (salam) upon the Noble Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, that Allah, being pleased, sends ten mercies and ten salutations upon that servant in accordance with His majesty. In addition, the pleasure and intercession of the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam are also granted. By "salat" is meant supplicating for mercy for the Perfect Prophet, and by "salam" is meant supplicating for peace upon him. Due to the special status, these particular supplications have been given the specific names of "salat" and "salam." These supplications are, in effect, ultimately for oneself, because supplicating for the Prophet is, in reality, for the benefit of the ummah. The honor of the ummah is elevated.
➋ In this blessed hadith, there is mention of Allah’s tremendous favor upon this ummah: that whoever sends blessings (salat) upon the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam once, Allah sends ten mercies upon him; and whoever sends peace (salam) upon him once, Allah sends ten salutations upon him.
➌ Upon receiving Allah’s bounty and grace, one should rejoice, and clear signs of happiness should be visible on the face.
