Hadith 1126

´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "I noticed that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was missing and I thought he had gone to visit one of his concubines, so I looked for him and found him prostrating and saying: 'Rabbighfirli ma asrartu wa ma a'lant (O Allah, forgive me for what (sin) I have concealed and what I have done openly).'"

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1126. Commentary: In the text of the hadith, the word «جواري» is used, which is commonly translated as "slave-girls." However, it can also mean "wives," because this word has also been used in the ahadith for free women. A slave-girl (amah) does not have an appointed turn, whereas a wife (if there is more than one) does have an appointed turn. Therefore, on the day of a wife's turn, it is not prohibited to go to one's slave-girl, but it is prohibited to go to another wife. Perhaps for this reason the word "slave-girl" was used; otherwise, there would be no limit to suspicion.
