´It was narrated that Aishah said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say when bowing: 'Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul-mala'ikati war-ruh (Perfect, Most Holy, is the Lord of the angels and the spirit).'"

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1049. Commentary: What is meant by “the Spirit”? It is said that it refers to Jibril (alayhis salam), or a creation higher than the angels who sees the angels while the angels do not see it, or the human souls. However, the Noble Qur’an explicitly clarifies that what is meant by it is indeed Jibril al-Amin (the Trustworthy), and due to his honor and rank, he is mentioned separately after the angels. Allah the Exalted says: “The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down” [الشعراء 193 : 26] — “This (Qur’an) has been brought down by the Trustworthy Angel.”

Hadith Commentary: Benefits and Issues:
Allah, the Exalted, has granted every Prophet (alayhis salam) the right that one of his supplications will certainly be accepted, and as for the rest of their supplications, there is hope for their acceptance; however, some are accepted and some, outwardly, are not accepted.

The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is so compassionate and merciful towards his Ummah that he did not use that supplication in this transient, worldly life. Rather, in the Hereafter—when everyone will be fleeing from one another, in such a state of chaos—he (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) will make that supplication for the intercession and salvation of his Ummah.

So then, how truly regrettable is the condition of the Ummah if they adopt an attitude of indifference and turning away from the obedience and submission to such a merciful and noble Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam).
