´It was narrated that Ali said:` "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me-but I do not say he forbade you- from wearing gold rings, Al-Qassi, and from wearing Al-Mufaddam, and from wearing clothes dyed with safflower, and from reciting Qur'an when bowing."

1043. Commentary:
➊ "I do not say that it is only for you": The meaning of Ali radi Allahu anhu is simply that the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam addressed these words specifically to me, and at that time no one else was present, and I am narrating exactly as I heard from the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam. This does not mean that this ruling is only for me and not for you; rather, this ruling is for every Muslim, as is established by other explicit narrations.
➋ "Muqammam": Pure and intensely red. That is, if there are red stripes but the rest of the color is something else, or if it is a light red (which women generally do not wear), then it is permissible, as is found in several narrations that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wore a red cloak (hullah). Apparently, it was striped.
