Hadith 1023

´It was narrated from Ya'la bin Mamlak that :` He asked Umm Salamah about the recitation and prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and she said: "Why do you want to know about his prayer?" Then she described his recitation and as being so measured and clear that each letter could be distinguished.

Explanation & Benefits
Hafiz Muhammad Ameen
1023. Commentary: The recitation should be clear and pure. Every single word should be understandable separately. One should pause at every verse and sentence so that, while reading and listening, attention is given to the meanings and concepts. The meanings should be imprinted upon the heart, have an effect on the heart, and admonition should be obtained, which is the real purpose of the Qur'an. Otherwise, mere tajwid (correct pronunciation) will be of no benefit.

Explanation:
1:
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) would recite ﴿مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ﴾ as ﴿مَلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ﴾.

2:
That is:
Abu Ubayd Qasim ibn Sallam preferred to recite ﴿مَلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ﴾ instead of ﴿مَالِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّينِ﴾.
