´Umm Hani said:` "I used to listen to the Prophet (ﷺ) reciting Quran when I was on my roof."

Benefits and Issues:
➊ The Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to recite aloud (jahr) during the Tahajjud prayer. However, silent (sirr) recitation is also permissible, as is mentioned in Hadith 1354.

➋ "Areesh" refers to a thatched roof. Here, it means the roof of the house. The roof of the house of Umm Hani (radi Allahu anha) was simple, which is why she referred to it as a thatched roof. The meaning is that the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to recite (Qur'an) in his house, and I could hear the recitation in my house. The reason for this, besides the loudness of the Prophet’s (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) voice, could also be the peaceful silence of the night and the fact that the house of Umm Hani (radi Allahu anha) was not very far away.
