Hadith 1724
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded to trim the moustaches and leave (grow) the beards.
Hadith 1725
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ
ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ
حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ
مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ عَامَ حَجَّ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، وَتَنَاوَلَ قُصَّةً مِنْ شَعَرٍ كَانَتْ فِي يَدِ حَرَسِيٍّ، يَقُولُ : يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَيْنَ عُلَمَاؤُكُمْ ؟ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَنْهَى عَنْ مِثْلِ هَذِهِ، وَيَقُولُ : " إِنَّمَا
هَلَكَتْ بَنُو إِسْرَائِيلَ حِينَ اتَّخَذَ هَذِهِ نِسَاؤُهُمْ "
It is narrated from Humaid bin Abdur Rahman bin Awf that he heard Muawiyah bin Abu Sufyan, in the year he performed Hajj and he was on the pulpit, take a braid of hair from his servant’s hand and say: O people of Madinah! Where are your scholars? I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbidding this, and he said: “The Children of Israel were destroyed when their women began to do this.”
Hadith 1726
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ
زِيَادِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ
ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ :
" سَدَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَاصِيَتَهُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ، ثُمَّ فَرَقَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ " .
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to let his hair hang down towards his forehead for a period of time, then after that he began to part it.
Hadith 1726B1
قَالَ مَالِك : لَيْسَ عَلَى الرَّجُلِ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى شَعَرِ امْرَأَةِ ابْنِهِ أَوْ شَعَرِ أُمِّ امْرَأَتِهِ بَأْسٌ
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that there is nothing objectionable in looking at the hair of one's daughter-in-law or mother-in-law.
Hadith 1727
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ
نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ
عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَكْرَهُ الْإِخْصَاءَ، وَيَقُولُ :
" فِيهِ تَمَامُ الْخَلْقِ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) considered castration to be disliked, and used to say that keeping the testicles completes procreation.
Hadith 1728
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ
صَفْوَانَ بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ :
" أَنَا وَكَافِلُ الْيَتِيمِ لَهُ أَوْ لِغَيْرِهِ فِي الْجَنَّةِ كَهَاتَيْنِ إِذَا اتَّقَى "، وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبُعَيْهِ الْوُسْطَى وَالَّتِي تَلِي الْإِبْهَامَ
It reached Safwan bin Salim that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I and the caretaker of an orphan, whether he is a relative of the orphan or not, will be in Paradise like these two fingers, as long as he is God-fearing." And the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, pointed to the index finger and the middle finger.
