بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي صِفَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ
Chapter on What is Reported Regarding the Description of the Prophet (peace be upon him)
Hadith 1665
حَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يَقُولُ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " لَيْسَ بِالطَّوِيلِ الْبَائِنِ وَلَا بِالْقَصِيرِ، وَلَيْسَ بِالْأَبْيَضِ الْأَمْهَقِ وَلَا بِالْآدَمِ، وَلَا بِالْجَعْدِ الْقَطَطِ وَلَا بِالسَّبِطِ، بَعَثَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى رَأْسِ أَرْبَعِينَ سَنَةً، فَأَقَامَ بِمَكَّةَ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ وَبِالْمَدِينَةِ عَشْرَ سِنِينَ، وَتَوَفَّاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ عَلَى رَأْسِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً وَلَيْسَ فِي رَأْسِهِ وَلِحْيَتِهِ عِشْرُونَ شَعْرَةً بَيْضَاءَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, used to say that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was neither very tall nor short, neither white like lime nor very wheat-colored, and his hair, peace and blessings be upon him, was neither very curly nor very straight. When he, peace and blessings be upon him, reached the age of forty, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, granted him prophethood. After prophethood, he, peace and blessings be upon him, stayed in Makkah for ten years and in Madinah for ten years, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, passed away at the age of sixty. At that time, there were not even twenty white hairs on his, peace and blessings be upon him, head and beard.
