Hadith 1659
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " لَا يَمْشِيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ فِي نَعْلٍ وَاحِدَةٍ لِيُنْعِلْهُمَا جَمِيعًا أَوْ لِيُحْفِهِمَا جَمِيعًا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should walk wearing only one shoe; he should either wear both shoes or take off both."
Hadith 1660
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنْ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِذَا انْتَعَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالْيَمِينِ، وَإِذَا نَزَعَ فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِالشِّمَالِ، وَلْتَكُنْ الْيُمْنَى أَوَّلَهُمَا تُنْعَلُ وَآخِرَهُمَا تُنْزَعُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you puts on shoes, he should begin with the right foot, and when he takes them off, he should take off the left foot first, so that the right foot is the first when putting on and the last when taking off."
Hadith 1661
وَحَدَّثَنِي، عَنْ مَالِك، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي سُهَيْلِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ كَعْبِ الْأَحْبَارِ : أَنّ رَجُلًا نَزَعَ نَعْلَيْهِ، فَقَالَ : " لِمَ خَلَعْتَ نَعْلَيْكَ ؟ لَعَلَّكَ تَأَوَّلْتَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ : فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ إِنَّكَ بِالْوَادِ الْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى سورة طه آية 12 "، قَالَ : ثُمَّ قَالَ كَعْبٌ لِلرَّجُلِ : " أَتَدْرِي مَا كَانَتْ نَعْلَا مُوسَى ؟ " ¤قَالَ مَالِك : لَا أَدْرِي مَا أَجَابَهُ الرَّجُلُ، فَقَالَ كَعْبٌ : " كَانَتَا مِنْ جِلْدِ حِمَارٍ مَيِّتٍ "
It is narrated from Ka'b al-Ahbar that a man took off his shoes. Ka'b al-Ahbar said: Why did you take off your shoes? Perhaps you took them off after seeing this verse, when Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, said to Musa (peace be upon him) as he was going to the Mount: «﴿فَاخْلَعْ نَعْلَيْكَ﴾» "Take off your shoes." But do you know what Musa's (peace be upon him) shoes were made of?
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I do not know what the man replied. Ka'b said: The shoes of Musa (peace be upon him) were made from the skin of a dead donkey.
