Hadith 1649
It is narrated from Nafi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to wear clothes dyed with ochre and clothes dyed with saffron.
Hadith 1649B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In my view, it is disliked to adorn children, that is, boys, with gold, because it has reached me from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade wearing gold rings. And I consider it disliked for both adult men and young boys to wear gold. Zarqani said: For adult men, it is considered mildly disliked (makruh tanzihi), but as for silver ornaments for boys, according to some scholars it is permissible, and according to others it is disliked.
Hadith 1649B2
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that I do not consider it forbidden for men to wear sheets dyed with safflower at home or around it, but in my view, not wearing them is better, and wearing other clothing besides this is good.
