What is reported about breaking an oath on the Prophet's pulpit
Hadith 1424
قَالَ يَحْيَى : حَدَّثَنَا مَالِك، عَنْ هَاشِمِ بْنِ هَاشِمِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نِسْطَاسٍ ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : " مَنْ حَلَفَ عَلَى مِنْبَرِي آثِمًا، تَبَوَّأَ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears a false oath upon my pulpit has made his abode in the Hellfire."
Hadith 1425
وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِك، عَنْ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَعْبَدِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ السَّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، قَالَ : " مَنِ اقْتَطَعَ حَقَّ امْرِئٍ مُسْلِمٍ بِيَمِينِهِ، حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَوْجَبَ لَهُ النَّارَ " . قَالُوا : وَإِنْ كَانَ شَيْئًا يَسِيرًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ : " وَإِنْ كَانَ قَضِيبًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَ قَضِيبًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَ قَضِيبًا مِنْ أَرَاكٍ " . قَالَهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever usurps the right of his Muslim brother by swearing a false oath, Allah will make Paradise forbidden for him and will make Hell necessary for him." The Companions said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Even if that right is small? He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Even if it is a twig of the arak tree, even if it is a twig of the arak tree, even if it is a twig of the arak tree." He said it three times.
