بَابُ فَضْلِ عِتْقِ الرِّقَابِ وَعِتْقِ الزَّانِيَةِ وَابْنِ الزِّنَا
Virtue of freeing slaves, adulteresses, and children of adultery
Hadith 1281
حَدَّثَنِي مَالِك، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سُئِلَ عَنِ الرِّقَابِ، أَيُّهَا أَفْضَلُ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَغْلَاهَا ثَمَنًا، وَأَنْفَسُهَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِهَا "
It is narrated from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was asked: Which slave is best to set free? He (peace be upon him) said: "The one whose price is high and is most desired by its owners."
Hadith 1282
وَحَدَّثَنِي وَحَدَّثَنِي مَالِك، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّهُ " أَعْتَقَ وَلَدَ زِنًا وَأُمَّهُ "
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) freed a child of adultery and his mother.
