Hadith 1087
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman that when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, married Sayyida Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, and morning came, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "I will not do such a thing because of which you would be disgraced among your people. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, then I will stay seven days with each wife. And if you wish, I will stay with you for three days and then stay one day with each of the others." Sayyida Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, said: "Stay for three days."
Hadith 1088
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that a virgin woman has seven days and a previously married woman has three days.
Hadith 1088B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: This is the ruling according to us. Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If a man has married a woman and, besides her, he has other wives as well, then after those days he should stay with all of them equally. However, these days will be counted in favor of the new woman, because this is the right of the new woman.
