It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), while he was among the riders and was swearing by his father: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, forbids you from swearing by your fathers. Whoever among you wishes to swear an oath, let him swear by Allah or remain silent.

Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to say: "By the One who turns the hearts."
Hadith 1026
It is narrated from Ibn Shihab that when Allah accepted the repentance of Abu Lubabah, he said: O Messenger of Allah! Should I leave the house of my people in which I committed the sin, and stay near you, and give charity from my wealth for the sake of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him)? The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: Giving one third of your wealth in charity is sufficient for you.
Hadith 1027
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was asked: A person said: My wealth is dedicated (waqf) at the door of the Ka'bah. She said: In this, the expiation of an oath will be required.
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said that whoever says: My wealth is for the sake of Allah, should give one third of his wealth in charity, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave such an order to Abu Lubabah.
