Hadith 1001
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Goodness and blessing are tied to the forelocks of horses until the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 1002
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) set a condition for advancing in those horses that were prepared for horse racing, from Hafya (a place outside Madinah) to Thaniyyat al-Wada' (which is five miles from Hafya), and for those horses that were not prepared, their limit was set from Thaniyyat al-Wada' to the mosque of Banu Zuraiq (which is one mile). Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) also participated in the horse race.
Hadith 1003
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrates that Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib used to say: There is nothing objectionable in setting a condition for a horse race, when a third person joins between two people; if he goes ahead, he may take the stipulated money, and if he lags behind, he does not have to give anything.
Hadith 1004
It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was seen by the people cleaning his horse’s mouth with a cloth. The people asked the reason for this, and he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Last night I was reproached for not taking care of the horse.”
Hadith 1005
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out for Khaybar and reached there at night, whenever he (peace be upon him) would reach a people at night, he would not begin fighting until morning. So the Jews of Khaybar came out with their spades and baskets, and when they saw him (peace be upon him), they said: "By Allah, this is Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the entire army is with him." Then he (peace be upon him) said: "Allahu Akbar! Khaybar is ruined.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever spends a pair (for example, two camels or two goats or two coins) in the way of Allah, he will be called from the gate of Paradise on the Day of Resurrection: O servant of Allah! This is good. So whoever is among those who pray will be called from the gate of prayer, whoever is among those who strive (in jihad) will be called from the gate of jihad, whoever is among those who give charity will be called from the gate of charity, and whoever is among those who fast frequently will be called from the gate of Rayyan." Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)! There will be no harm to the one who is called from any one of these gates, but will there be anyone who will be called from all the gates? He (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Yes, and I hope that you will be among them."
