Hadith 971
Whenever Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would give something for jihad, he would say: When it reaches Wadi al-Qura, then that thing is yours.
Hadith 972
It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed that Saeed bin Musayyib used to say: When something is given to a person for the purpose of jihad, and he reaches the abode of jihad, then that thing becomes his.
Hadith 972B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked about a person who made a vow to participate in jihad, but when he prepared to go, his parents, or just his mother or father, forbade him. He replied: In my view, he should not disobey his parents and should postpone the jihad until the following year. He should set aside the equipment he had prepared for jihad, and if he fears it may be damaged, he should sell it and keep the money, so that next year he can buy equipment with that money. However, if the person is wealthy enough that he can buy equipment again when he sets out, then he has the choice to do whatever he wishes with the equipment.
