Hadith 888
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: And those who shorten their hair, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “May Allah have mercy on those who shave their heads.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: And those who shorten their hair, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “And those who shorten their hair.”
Hadith 889
It is narrated from Abdur Rahman bin Qasim that his father, Qasim bin Muhammad, would enter into the state of ihram for Umrah in Makkah at night, perform tawaf and sa’i, and delay shaving his head until morning. However, until he shaved his head, he would not perform tawaf of the House of Allah. Sometimes he would come to the mosque and offer witr prayer, but would not go near the House of Allah.
Hadith 889B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that Allah the Exalted said: «﴿ثُمَّ لْيَقْضُوا تَفَثَهُمْ﴾» "Then let them remove their dirt." Tafath refers to shaving the head, changing clothes, and what is related to these.
Hadith 889B2
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: If a person forgets to shave his head during Hajj, should he shave in Makkah? He replied: Yes, he should do it, but shaving in Mina is better.
Hadith 889B3
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In our view, this ruling is agreed upon that no person should shave his head or cut his hair until he has performed the sacrifice, if he has a sacrificial animal with him, and he should not use any of the things that were forbidden in the state of Ihram until he exits Ihram in Mina on the Day of Sacrifice. Because Allah the Exalted has said: «﴿وَلَا تَحْلِقُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْهَدْيُ مَحِلَّهُ﴾» "And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal reaches its place."
