Hadith 885
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) slaughtered some of his sacrificial animals with his own hand, and some were slaughtered by others.
Hadith 886
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Whoever makes a vow for a badnah (badnah refers to a camel, cow, or ox that is sent to Makkah for sacrifice), he should hang two sandals around its neck, perform ish‘ar (marking), and then slaughter it near the House of Allah or at Mina on the tenth of Dhul-Hijjah; there is no other place for this. And whoever makes a vow for sacrifice of a camel or cow, he has the choice to slaughter it wherever he wishes.
Hadith 887
It is narrated from Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah that his father, Hazrat Urwah, used to slaughter his camels while they were standing.
Hadith 887B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that it is not permissible for anyone to shave his head before the sacrifice of the Hady, nor is it permissible to perform the sacrifice before the dawn of the Day of Sacrifice. Rather, the sacrifice, changing of clothes, removal of dirt, and shaving of the head—all these actions should be done on the tenth day; before that, they are not permissible.
