Hadith 839
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, saw a man driving a sacrificial camel. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Ride on it." He replied, "It is a sacrificial animal, O Messenger of Allah." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Ride on it, may you be ruined," and on the second or third time, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said this.
Hadith 840
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Dinar that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to offer two camels as sacrificial animals (hady) during Hajj and one camel during Umrah. I saw him slaughtering his camel while it was standing at the house of Khalid bin Asid, where he used to stay. And I saw him during Umrah that he struck his camel in the neck with a spear until it came out from its shoulder.
Hadith 841
Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, sent a sacrificial animal—one camel—for Hajj or Umrah.
Hadith 842
It is narrated from Abu Ja'far Qari that Abdullah bin Ayyash offered two camels as sacrificial animals; one of them was a Bactrian camel.
Hadith 843
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: When a she-camel that is to be offered as Hadi gives birth, then take its calf along as well and sacrifice it together with its mother. If there is no ride available to take it along, then make it ride on its mother so that it may be slaughtered together with her.
Hadith 844
Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah said that my father, Hazrat Urwah (may Allah have mercy on him), used to say that if you are in need, then ride on your sacrificial animal, but not in such a way that its back is broken, and when you are in need of its milk, then drink it after its young one has had its fill. Then when you slaughter it, slaughter its young one along with it.
