Hadith 766
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "From one ‘Umrah to the next ‘Umrah is an expiation for the sins committed between them, and the only reward for an accepted Hajj is Paradise."
Hadith 767
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Bakr bin Abdur Rahman, he used to say: A woman came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said: I had made preparations for Hajj, then some ailment befell me so I could not perform Hajj. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Perform Umrah in Ramadan because one Umrah in Ramadan is equal to one Hajj."
Hadith 768
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: Separate Hajj and Umrah, so that Hajj is performed completely and Umrah is performed completely, and that is by not performing Umrah in the months of Hajj, but rather performing it on other days.
Hadith 769
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), when he performed Umrah, would never dismount from his camel until he returned to Madinah.
Hadith 769B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that 'Umrah is Sunnah, and we have not seen any Muslim who permits its abandonment.
Hadith 769B2
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: In our view, it is not correct for anyone to perform Umrah multiple times in a year.
Hadith 769B3
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person has intercourse with his wife while in the state of ihram for ‘umrah, then a sacrificial animal (hady) is obligatory upon him, and making up that ‘umrah is also obligatory. The ‘umrah that was invalidated by intercourse should be completed, and immediately after that, the make-up ‘umrah should be started. The ihram for the make-up ‘umrah should be assumed from the same place where the ihram for the invalidated ‘umrah was assumed. However, if the ihram for that ‘umrah was assumed before reaching the miqat, then assuming ihram from the miqat is sufficient.
Hadith 769B4
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person enters Makkah in the state of ihram for Umrah, performs tawaf and sa'i between Safa and Marwah while in a state of janabah (major impurity) or without wudu, then has intercourse with his wife out of forgetfulness, and then remembers, he should perform ghusl or wudu, repeat the tawaf and sa'i, perform another Umrah as compensation, and offer a sacrifice. And if the woman was also in ihram, her ruling is the same as that of the man.
Hadith 769B5
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that assuming the ihram for ‘umrah from Taneem is preferable, but whoever wishes may go outside the Haram and assume the ihram for ‘umrah from there; this is sufficient. However, the best is to assume the ihram for ‘umrah from the miqat which the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, specified, and that is farther than Taneem.
