Hadith 751
It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: O people of Makkah! People come here with disheveled and troubled hair, while you apply oil; when you see the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, you too should enter into Ihram.
Hadith 752
It is narrated from Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) stayed in Makkah for nine years. When he saw the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, he would enter into Ihram, and Hazrat Urwah bin Zubair would do the same.
Hadith 752B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Those people who are residents of Makkah or who are staying in Makkah but are not its inhabitants, should enter into Ihram from the Haram.
Hadith 752B2
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Whoever enters into the state of ihram for Hajj from Makkah should not perform tawaf and sa’i until he returns from Mina, and this is what Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to do.
Hadith 752B3
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: If the people who are residents of the city and the country put on the ihram for Hajj from Makkah after sighting the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, then how should they perform the obligatory tawaf? He said: They should delay the obligatory tawaf (tawaf al-ziyarah), and that is the tawaf after which the sa’i is performed between Safa and Marwah, and they may perform as many voluntary tawafs as they wish. But after every tawaf, they should pray two rak’ahs, and this is what the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, did. They put on the ihram for Hajj from Makkah, so they delayed the tawaf and sa’i until they returned from Mina, and this is what our master Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, did. He would also put on the ihram for Hajj from Makkah after sighting the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, and would delay the tawaf and sa’i until returning from Mina.
Hadith 752B4
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: It is not correct for a resident of Makkah to enter into the state of ihram for ‘umrah from within the Haram; rather, it is necessary to enter into ihram from the Hill.
