Hadith 707
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Haneen (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) and Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) had a disagreement at Abwa (which is a place between the two Harams). Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) said: A Muhrim can wash his head. Sayyiduna Miswar bin Makhramah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: He cannot wash it. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Haneen (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) sent me to Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him), and I found him bathing between two wooden planks that were placed at the well, and he was screened with a cloth. I greeted him with salam. He asked: Who is this? I said: I am Abdullah bin Haneen. Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with both of them) has sent me to ask you how the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to bathe when he was in the state of Ihram. So Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub (may Allah be pleased with him) placed his hand on the cloth and uncovered his head until his head became visible to me. Then he said to a man who was pouring water over him: Pour water. So he poured water on his head, and he (Abu Ayyub) moved both his hands over his head, bringing them forward and then backward, and said: This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) doing.
Hadith 708
It is narrated from Ata bin Abi Rabah that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said to Ya'la bin Munabbih, who used to pour water when Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, performed ghusl: "Pour water on my head." Ya'la said: "Do you want the sin to be upon me? If you command, I will pour." Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "Pour, for nothing will happen by pouring water except that Sayyiduna Bilal, may Allah be pleased with him, will be even more troubled."
Hadith 709
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) would approach near to Makkah, he would stop at Dhi Tuwa (which is a place near the gate of Makkah) between two mountain passes, until morning came. Then he would perform the morning prayer and then enter Makkah from the side of the mountain pass which is on the upper side of Makkah. And when he came with the intention of Hajj or ‘Umrah, he would not enter Makkah until he had performed ghusl (ritual bath) at Dhi Tuwa, and he would also instruct those who were with him to perform ghusl before entering Makkah.
Hadith 710
It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) would not wash his head in the state of Ihram, except when he experienced a wet dream.
Hadith 710B
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: I heard from the people of knowledge, they used to say: There is no harm if a man washes his head with sidr or potash, etc., after throwing pebbles at Jamrah al-Aqabah, before shaving his head, because when he has thrown the pebbles at Jamrah al-Aqabah, it becomes permissible for him to kill lice, shave his head, remove dirt, and wear clothes.
