Hadith 554
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Atik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came to visit Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) and saw him in the severity of illness. So the Prophet (peace be upon him) called out to him, but he did not reply. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said «إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُوْنَ» and said: "We have been overcome by you, O Abu Rabi'!" Then the women began to cry loudly, and Sayyiduna Jabir bin Atik (may Allah be pleased with him) started to silence them. So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Let the women cry for now; when the event occurs, then no weeping woman should cry." A female companion asked: "What is meant by 'when the event occurs'?" He replied: "When he dies." Meanwhile, the daughter of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I had hoped that you would be martyred because you had prepared the equipment for jihad." So the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Allah, the Glorious and Exalted, will grant him reward according to his intention. What do you consider as martyrdom?" They replied: "Being killed in the way of Allah, the Glorious and Exalted." The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Besides this, there are seven more martyrs: one who dies of plague, the second who dies by drowning, the third who dies of pleurisy, the fourth who dies of a stomach ailment, the fifth who dies by burning in fire, the sixth who dies by being crushed, and the seventh is the woman who dies during childbirth."
Hadith 555
It is narrated from Hazrat Amrah bint Abdur Rahman that she heard from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) when it was mentioned before her that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The dead is punished because of the weeping of the living. So Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: May Allah forgive Abu Abdur Rahman, he did not lie, but he forgot or made a mistake. The real matter is that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by a Jewish woman who had died and people were weeping over her, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "These people are weeping over her, and she is being punished in the grave."
