Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), and Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to pray, and for men and women, they would say one time each; for men, they would say near the imam, and for women, near the qiblah.
Hadith 543
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that when Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) finished performing the funeral prayer, he would say the salam aloud to the extent that those near him would hear it.
Hadith 544
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: No one should perform the funeral prayer without ablution.
Hadith 544B
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: I have not seen any scholar who prohibits offering the funeral prayer for a child born out of wedlock or his mother.
