Hadith 538
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Abi Harmalah that Sayyida Zainab bint Abi Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) (the daughter of Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, from her first husband) passed away, and at that time Tariq was the governor of Madinah. Her funeral was brought after the Fajr prayer and placed in Baqi', and Tariq used to lead the Fajr prayer in darkness. Abi Harmalah said: I heard Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying to the people of Sayyida Zainab (may Allah be pleased with her): Either you perform the funeral prayer now, or leave it until the sun has risen high.
Hadith 539
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: The funeral prayer may be offered after ‘Asr and after Fajr when these two prayers are performed at their prescribed times.
