بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنِ اسْتِقْبَالِ الْقِبْلَةِ ، وَالْإِنْسَانُ عَلَى حَاجَتِهِ
Chapter on the prohibition of facing the qiblah while relieving oneself
Hadith 454
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ إِسْحَاق بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق مَوْلًى لِآلِ الشِّفَاءِ ، وَكَانَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَوْلَى أَبِي طَلْحَةَ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا أَيُّوبَ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ صَاحِبَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ بِمِصْرَ ، يَقُولُ : وَاللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِهَذِهِ الْكَرَابِيسِ ؟ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا ذَهَبَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْغَائِطَ أَوِ الْبَوْلَ ، فَلَا يَسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةَ وَلَا يَسْتَدْبِرْهَا بِفَرْجِهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Ayyub Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, who was a companion of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he used to say in Egypt: By Allah! What should I do about these latrines, when the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you goes to defecate or urinate, he should neither face the Qiblah nor turn his back towards it."
Hadith 455
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " نَهَى أَنْ تُسْتَقْبَلَ الْقِبْلَةُ لِغَائِطٍ أَوْ بَوْلٍ "
It is narrated from an Ansari person that he heard from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade facing the Qiblah while urinating or defecating.
