Hadith 412
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Qatadah Ansari, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to pray while carrying his granddaughter Umamah, who was the daughter of Sayyidah Zainab, may Allah be pleased with her, from Sayyiduna Abu al-As, may Allah be pleased with him. When he, peace and blessings be upon him, would prostrate, he would put her down on the ground, and when he stood up, he would pick her up.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Angels come to you in succession, those of the night and those of the day, and they gather at the times of the Asr and Fajr prayers. Then those angels who stayed with you during the night ascend, and your Lord asks them, though He knows best, ‘In what condition did you leave My servants?’ They say: ‘We left them while they were praying, and when we came to them, they were praying as well.’”

It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered, during his illness of death, that Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) should lead the prayer. So I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! When Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stands in your place, he will be overcome with weeping and his voice will not come out, so order Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tell Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the prayer." Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that I said to Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her): You say to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) stands in your place, he will be overcome with weeping and his voice will not come out, so just order Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the prayer. So Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said it, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You are like the women who were companions of Yusuf. Tell Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) to lead the prayer." So Sayyidah Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her) said to Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): I have received no good from you.

It is narrated from Ubaidullah bin Adi that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was sitting among the people when a man came and whispered something in the ear of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. We did not know what he was saying until the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, raised his voice and spoke out. Then it became clear that the man was seeking permission from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to kill a hypocrite. When the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, spoke out, he said: "Does that person not bear witness to the fact that there is no true deity except Allah, and that Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is indeed His Messenger?" The man replied: Yes, but his testimony is of no value. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Does he not perform prayer?" He replied: Yes, he does, but his prayer is of no value. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah has forbidden me from killing such people."

It is narrated from Ata bin Yasar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O Lord! Do not make my grave an idol that people worship. Very great is the wrath of Allah upon those who took the graves of their prophets as mosques."

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Mahmood bin Labeed Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) that Sayyiduna Utban bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead his people in prayer, and his eyesight was weak. He said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Sometimes there is darkness, or water, or a flood, and my eyesight is weak, so please pray at a place in my house so that I may take that spot as my place of prayer. So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) came and said: "Where would you like me to pray?" He pointed out a place, and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) prayed there.

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) lying on his back in the mosque, with one of his feet placed over the other.
Hadith 419
It is narrated from Sa'id bin al-Musayyib that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab and Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with them both, used to do this (i.e., they would lie on their backs with one foot placed over the other).

It is narrated from Yahya ibn Saeed that Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, said to a man: "You are in such a time that there are many scholars in it, but few who merely recite words; the commands of the Qur'an are acted upon, and words are not given such importance; there are few who ask questions, and many who answer, or few who beg and many who give; the prayer is made long and the sermon is kept short; good deeds are done first and the desires of the self are not given precedence. And soon a time will come when there will be few scholars, many who recite words, the words of the Qur'an will be memorized but its commands will not be acted upon; there will be many who ask and beg, and very few who answer and give; the sermon will be made long and the prayer will be kept short; they will follow their own desires and will not do good deeds."
Hadith 421
It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed that it reached him: On the Day of Resurrection, the prayer will be looked at first; if the prayer is accepted, then other deeds will be looked at, otherwise no other deed will be looked at.

It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) liked that deed very much which a person continues to do regularly.
Hadith 423
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) that there were two brothers during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them died forty days before the other. People praised the one who died first. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Do you know to what rank the prayers of the other have raised him? The example of prayer is like a river of sweet water, very deep, flowing at someone’s door, and he bathes in it five times a day. Will there remain any dirt on his body? Then do you know to what rank the prayers have raised the other brother?”
Hadith 424
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that Ata bin Yasar, when he saw someone selling goods in the mosque, would call him, then ask him: What do you have and what do you want? If he said that he wanted to sell, he would say: Go to the marketplace of the world; this is the marketplace of the Hereafter.
Hadith 425
It reached Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, that Sayyiduna Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, made a place in the corner of the mosque, its name was Bathiha, and he said that whoever wants to chatter, or recite poetry, or call out, should go to that place.
