Hadith 224
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumu'ah as he would for janabah, then goes to the mosque in the first hour, it is as if he has given a camel in charity; whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he has given a cow or an ox in charity; whoever goes in the third hour, it is as if he has given a horned ram in charity; whoever goes in the fourth hour, it is as if he has given a chicken in charity; and whoever goes in the fifth hour, it is as if he has given an egg in charity. Then, when the Imam comes out for the khutbah, the angels come to listen to the khutbah."
Hadith 225
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say: On the day of Jumu'ah, performing ghusl is obligatory upon every adult, just like the ghusl of janabah.
Hadith 226
It is narrated from Hazrat Salim bin Abdullah, he said: One of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) came to the mosque on Friday while Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) was delivering the sermon. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "What time is this to come?" The man replied: I turned from the market and heard the call to prayer, so I performed ablution and came. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: This is another shortcoming—you only performed ablution, even though you know that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) commanded taking a bath.
Hadith 227
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The Friday bath is obligatory upon every adult person."
Hadith 228
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever comes for Jumu'ah should come after performing ghusl, or whoever intends to perform the Jumu'ah prayer should perform ghusl."
Hadith 228B1
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person performs ghusl (ritual bath) on the morning of Friday and intends it as the ghusl of Jumu'ah, then this ghusl will not suffice until he performs ghusl at the time of going to the prayer, because in the hadith of Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, it is mentioned that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When any of you intends to go to the Jumu'ah prayer, he should perform ghusl."
Hadith 228B2
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Whoever performs ghusl on the day of Jumu'ah, whether early or late, and intends the ghusl of Jumu'ah, then his wudu' breaks, he should perform wudu', and the ghusl will suffice for him.
