Hadith 155
It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) gave the call to prayer on a night in which there was much cold and wind, then said: "Pray in your dwellings." Then Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to instruct the muezzin, when the night was cold and it was raining, to announce: "Pray in your dwellings."
Hadith 156
It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say only the takbir while traveling, except for the Fajr prayer, for which he would also give the adhan. And Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) also used to say that the adhan is for the imam with whom people gather.
Hadith 157
Hazrat Hisham bin Urwah narrated from his father that when you are on a journey, you have the choice: you may say both the adhan and the iqamah, or only say the iqamah and not give the adhan.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that there is nothing wrong with giving the adhan while riding.
Hadith 158
Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib said that when a person prays in an open field, an angel prays on his right side and an angel on his left side. If he gives the adhan and then says the takbeer and prays, then many angels pray behind him, like mountains.
