بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي الْبَوْلِ قَائِمًا وَغَيْرِهِ
What is Reported Regarding Urinating Standing and Otherwise
Hadith 140
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ فَكَشَفَ عَنْ فَرْجِهِ لِيَبُولَ فَصَاحَ النَّاسُ بِهِ حَتَّى عَلَا الصَّوْتُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اتْرُكُوهُ " ، فَتَرَكُوهُ فَبَالَ ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِذَنُوبٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَصُبَّ عَلَى ذَلِكَ الْمَكَانِ
It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed Al-Ansari that a Bedouin came to the mosque and uncovered his private part to urinate, so the people made a commotion and shouted loudly. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Leave him." So the people left him. When he had finished urinating, the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered that a bucket of water be poured over that place.
Hadith 141
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ يَبُولُ قَائِمًا " .
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Dinar that I saw Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) urinating while standing.
Hadith 141B
قَالَ يَحْيَى : وَسُئِلَ مَالِك ، عَنْ غَسْلِ الْفَرْجِ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ وَالْغَائِطِ هَلْ جَاءَ فِيهِ أَثَرٌ ؟ فَقَالَ : بَلَغَنِي أَنَّ بَعْضَ مَنْ مَضَى كَانُوا يَتَوَضَّئُونَ مِنَ الْغَائِطِ ، وَأَنَا أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَغْسِلَ الْفَرْجَ مِنَ الْبَوْلِ
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Is there any hadith regarding performing istinja with water after urination or defecation? He replied: It has reached me from some of the Salaf that they used to perform istinja with water after defecation, and I consider it good to perform istinja with water after urination.
