Hadith 109
It is narrated from Hazrat Ata bin Yasar that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) said the takbeer in one of the prayers, then signaled to the followers with his hand to remain firm on their prayer places, and he went to his house. After that, he returned and there were signs of water on his body.
Hadith 110
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Zubayd bin Silat (may Allah be pleased with him) that I went out with Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) to Jurf, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a mark of a wet dream on his garment, and he had already performed the prayer without having taken a bath. Then he said: By Allah! I do not see myself except that I had a wet dream and was not aware of it, and I performed the prayer and did not take a bath. Sayyiduna Zubayd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) performed ghusl (ritual bath) and washed the part of the garment where the mark was visible, and sprinkled water on the part where it was not visible, and gave the adhan or the iqamah, then performed the prayer calmly when the sun had risen high.
Hadith 111
It is narrated from Sulayman bin Yasar that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) went in the morning to his land which was in Juruf, and he saw a trace of a wet dream on his garment. Then he said: I have been afflicted with a wet dream since I became the caliph. Then he performed ghusl and washed the trace of the wet dream he found on his garment, then he prayed when the sun had risen.
Hadith 112
It is narrated from Sulayman bin Yasar that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) led the people in the morning prayer, then went to his land which was in Juruf. Then he saw a trace of a wet dream on his garment, so he said: "Since we started eating fat, the veins have become soft." Then he performed ghusl and washed the trace of the wet dream from his garment, and repeated the prayer.
Hadith 113
It is narrated from Yahya bin Abdur Rahman bin Hatib that he performed Umrah with several camel riders along with Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), among whom was also Sayyiduna Amr bin As (may Allah be pleased with him). Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) dismounted near water at night, and Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had a wet dream, and morning was near, and there was no water in the caravan. So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) rode until he came to the water, and began to wash his clothes until it became light. Sayyiduna Amr bin As (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him): Morning has come, we have clothes, leave your garment, it will be washed, and wear one of our garments. So Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Strange, O Amr bin As! If you have clothes, do you think all people will have clothes? By Allah! If I do this, it will become a Sunnah. Rather, I wash where impurity is known, and I sprinkle water where it is not known.
Hadith 113B
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person finds a trace of a wet dream on his clothes and does not know when the wet dream occurred, nor does he remember seeing anything in his dream, then he should perform ghusl (ritual bath) from the last dream he remembers. If he performed any prayers after that dream, he should repeat them, because sometimes a person experiences a wet dream but does not see anything, and sometimes he sees something but there is no wet dream. So when he sees wetness, ghusl becomes obligatory for him. The reason for this is that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, repeated only the prayer after his last sleep, and did not repeat the prayers before that.
