بَابُ الْوُضُوءِ مِنَ الْمَذْيِ
Chapter on Ablution Due to Pre-seminal Fluid (Madhy)
Hadith 83
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ الْمِقْدَادِ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ ، أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ، أَمَرَهُ أَنْ يَسْأَلَ لَهُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الرَّجُلِ ، إِذَا دَنَا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ فَخَرَجَ مِنْهُ الْمَذْيُ مَاذَا عَلَيْهِ ؟ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ : فَإِنَّ عِنْدِي ابْنَةَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَأَنَا أَسْتَحِي أَنْ أَسْأَلَهُ ، قَالَ الْمِقْدَادُ : فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَنْضَحْ فَرْجَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ، وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ "
Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad was instructed by Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): If a man approaches his wife and madhiy (pre-seminal fluid) is discharged, what is obligatory upon that person? Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah’s (peace and blessings be upon him) daughter is in my marriage, so I feel shy to ask. Therefore, al-Miqdad asked. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When any of you experiences such a thing, he should wash his private part with water and perform wudu as he does for prayer.”
Hadith 84
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لَأَجِدُهُ يَنْحَدِرُ مِنِّي مِثْلَ الْخُرَيْزَةِ ، فَإِذَا وَجَدَ ذَلِكَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَغْسِلْ ذَكَرَهُ ، وَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ " . يَعْنِي الْمَذْيَ
It is narrated from Hazrat Aslam that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: Madhi falls from me like a crystal bead, so if any of you experiences this, he should wash his private part and perform ablution as he does for prayer.
Hadith 85
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ جُنْدُبٍ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ عَنِ الْمَذْيِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا وَجَدْتَهُ فَاغْسِلْ فَرْجَكَ ، وَتَوَضَّأْ وُضُوءَكَ لِلصَّلَاةِ "
It is narrated from Hazrat Jundub that I asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) about the ruling of madhi (pre-seminal fluid), so he said: When you see madhi, wash your private part, and perform ablution as you do for prayer.
