Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, asked Abdur Rahman bin Qasim, "From where would Qasim bin Muhammad throw the pebbles at Jamrat al-Aqabah?" He replied, "From wherever it was possible."
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person throws pebbles or runs between Safa and Marwah without ablution, it is not obligatory for him to repeat it, but he should not do so deliberately.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked whether it is permissible to perform the stoning (rami) on behalf of a boy and a sick person. He replied: Yes, it is permissible, but the sick person should say the takbir in his tent at the appropriate time, and offer a sacrifice. Then, if the sick person recovers during the days of Tashreeq, he should perform the rami himself and offer a hady (sacrificial animal).
