بَابُ الْوُضُوءِ مِنْ مَسِّ الْفَرْجِChapter on Ablution After Touching the Private Part
Hadith 88
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ حَزْمٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُرْوَةَ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ ، يَقُولُ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى مَرْوَانَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ فَتَذَاكَرْنَا مَا يَكُونُ مِنْهُ الْوُضُوءُ ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ : وَمِنْ مَسِّ الذَّكَرِ الْوُضُوءُ ، فَقَالَ عُرْوَةُ : مَا عَلِمْتُ هَذَا ، فَقَالَ مَرْوَانُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ : أَخْبَرَتْنِي بُسْرَةُ بِنْتُ صَفْوَانَ ، أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " إِذَا مَسَّ أَحَدُكُمْ ذَكَرَهُ فَلْيَتَوَضَّأْ "
It is narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Bakr that he heard from Urwah bin Zubair that he went to Marwan bin Hakam and they discussed the things that necessitate ablution. Marwan said that touching the private part also necessitates ablution. Urwah said: I do not know this. Marwan said: Lady Busrah bint Safwan (may Allah be pleased with her) informed me, she heard from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he used to say: "When any one of you touches his private part, he should perform ablution."
