It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him) that Umm al-Mu'mineen Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) used to fast on the day of Arafah. Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I saw that on the evening of Arafah, when the Imam departed, she remained there until the ground was cleared, then she asked for a bowl of water and broke her fast.
