بَابُ جَامِعِ الطَّوَافِComprehensive Chapter on Tawaf
Hadith 825
وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ وَحَدَّثَنِي ، عَنْ مَالِك ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ ، أَنَّ سَعْدَ بْنَ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ " كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ مَكَّةَ مُرَاهِقًا ، خَرَجَ إِلَى عَرَفَةَ ، قَبْلَ أَنْ يَطُوفَ بِالْبَيْتِ وَبَيْنَ الصَّفَا ، وَالْمَرْوَةِ ، ثُمَّ يَطُوفُ بَعْدَ أَنْ يَرْجِعَ " . قَالَ مَالِك : وَذَلِكَ وَاسِعٌ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ . وَسُئِلَ مَالِك ، هَلْ يَقِفُ الرَّجُلُ فِي الطَّوَافِ بِالْبَيْتِ الْوَاجِبِ عَلَيْهِ ، يَتَحَدَّثُ مَعَ الرَّجُلِ ؟ فَقَالَ : لَا أُحِبُّ ذَلِكَ لَهُ . قَالَ مَالِك : لَا يَطُوفُ أَحَدٌ بِالْبَيْتِ وَلَا بَيْنَ الصَّفَا ، وَالْمَرْوَةِ إِلَّا وَهُوَ طَاهِرٌ
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) was informed that when Sayyiduna Sa’d bin Abi Waqqas (may Allah be pleased with him) would come to Makkah and the ninth (of Dhul-Hijjah) would approach, he would go to ‘Arafat before performing Tawaf and Sa’i. Then when he returned from there, he would perform Tawaf and Sa’i.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked whether it is permissible to stop during the obligatory Tawaf to talk to someone. He replied that he does not like it.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that no one should perform tawaf of the Ka'bah, nor sa'i between Safa and Marwah, except in a state of ablution.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said: It is permissible (to omit the Tawaf al-Qudum due to shortage of time). Insha’Allah.
