بَابُ الْحَجِّ عَمَّنْ يُحَجُّ عَنْهُHajj on Behalf of Another
Hadith 796
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ الْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَدِيفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَجَاءَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنْ خَثْعَمٍ تَسْتَفْتِيهِ ، فَجَعَلَ الْفَضْلُ يَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهَا وَتَنْظُرُ إِلَيْهِ ، فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْرِفُ وَجْهَ الْفَضْلِ إِلَى الشِّقِّ الْآخَرِ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَثْبُتَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، وَذَلِكَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that Sayyiduna Fadl bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was riding with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Meanwhile, a woman from Khath'am (Khath'am is the name of a tribe) came and began to ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) a question. Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) started looking at the woman, and the woman started looking at Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) began turning Sayyiduna Fadl's (may Allah be pleased with him) face to the other side. The woman said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah has made Hajj obligatory upon my father at a time when he is old and cannot sit on a camel. Should I perform Hajj on his behalf?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes." And this incident took place during the Farewell Pilgrimage.
