Hadith 751

حَدَّثَنِي حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى ، عَنْ مَالِك ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : " يَا أَهْلَ مَكَّةَ مَا شَأْنُ النَّاسِ يَأْتُونَ شُعْثًا وَأَنْتُمْ مُدَّهِنُونَ أَهِلُّوا إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلَالَ "
It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad that Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, said: O people of Makkah! People come here with disheveled and troubled hair, while you apply oil; when you see the moon of Dhul-Hijjah, you too should enter into Ihram.
