It is narrated from Umm al-Mu'minin Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) performed Hajj as Ifrad (single Hajj).
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I have heard from the people of knowledge, they used to say that if a person enters into Ihram for Hajj Mufrad (single Hajj), then later wishes to enter into Ihram for Umrah, this is not permissible. Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I found the people of knowledge of my city upon this opinion.
