Hadith 726

It is narrated from Yahya bin Saeed, Abdullah bin Abi Bakr, and Rabee'ah bin Abi Abdur Rahman that Al-Waleed bin Abdul Malik asked Salim bin Abdullah and Kharijah bin Zaid about applying perfume after throwing the pebbles and shaving the head, but before performing the Tawaf al-Ifadah. Salim forbade it, while Kharijah bin Zaid bin Thabit permitted it.
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, said that if a person applies such oil before entering into ihram, or before performing the tawaf al-ifadah, after throwing the pebbles, in which there is no fragrance, then there is no objection.
Imam Malik was asked whether a muhrim may eat food in which saffron has been put. He replied: If it has been cooked with fire, it is permissible; otherwise, it is not permissible.
