It is narrated from Abdullah bin Dinar that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade a person in the state of ihram from wearing clothes dyed with saffron or wars, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever does not find sandals should wear leather socks, but he should cut them so that they are below the ankles."
